On Christmas Jumper Day, it was only fitting that JGBM conducted a Mince Pie Taste Test – testing mince pies from ten leading supermarkets over five categories: Overall look, filling taste, pastry taste, texture and overall taste. The supermarkets were: Aldi, Asda, Co-op, Iceland, Lidl, M&S, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose.
The results were….
The winner for ‘Overall Look’ was… M&S
The winner for ‘Filling Taste’ was… M&S
The winner for ‘Pastry Taste’ was… M&S
The winner for ‘Texture’ was… M&S
The winner for ‘Overall Taste’ was… M&S
They were the most expensive at £2.00 for six, but they were the clear winner!
In second place for ‘Overall Taste’ – Asda (£1.25 for six)
In third place for ‘Overall Taste’ – Iceland (£1.00 for six)
In LAST PLACE in all categories (except ‘Overall Look’) was….Lidl (Sophie, our Marketing Manager, in the Lidl jumper, is not happy about the result!!!)
